For Dhara, her journey into the world of yoga began at the age of 13 when she accidentally came across a book of asanas in her fathers library. Not knowing the true art, science and philosophy of this ancient wisdom, she innocently kept replicating the asanas in the book secretly in her room. The freedom and joy she felt doing those poses back then led her to dream about teaching Yoga when she grows up to be an old lady. But destiny had plans for her to follow the dreams much sooner than what she had dreamed.
Always a fitness and dance enthusiast, Dhara while pursuing her International Marketing Masters from Strathclyde University in Glasgow kept her passion for fitness alive by running, weight training and kayaking in her university campus. Once back in India she dabbled with corporate jobs for a couple of years before her childhood dream of being a ‘Yoga Therapist’ caught on. She pursued an advanced teachers training course from The Yoga Institute, Santacruz and another Diploma course from the university of Mumbai. A born yogi, she realized that her life was naturally following the philosophy of yoga with her food habits (Vegan) and her belief system (The power to cure, to heal, to lead a balanced, healthy and wholesome life is completely in our hands).
Dhara believes in a holistic approach to yoga that is combined with other healing modalities like Reiki, Fairyology, Angel Therapy and Deep guided hypnotherapy meditations. Her classes follow an intuitive style of Hatha and Vinyasa, which are fun and lively combined with core strengthening ab circuits and intense variations. Her belief is that each individual has the same finish line to go to but their starting lines are unique to each one of them and she endeavors to provide the maximum health and spiritual benefits according to their uniqueness.
